about the artist

Growing up in a military family provided the opportunity to travel and see the world. Living abroad gave me a great appreciation and interest of various cultures and history.

My first formal training in fine art and graphic design was received from Notre Dame College in Manchester, NH. This is where I learned that art is more than just paint to canvas. It is intuition, communication, appreciation and self expression and more importantly technical skill and discipline.

In recent years I have returned to Europe to study. These pilgrimages allowed me to develop my skill and focus on art history, political and cultural influences and how the great masters worked and lived.

When asked to describe my art or style, my response is, I am a colorist with an appreciation of Impressionism, complimented by oriental sensibility.
